Why Should You Take Part in A Giveaway – Part 2

Not only WHY you should take part in giveaways but WHICH giveaways should you participate in? In case you haven’t already noticed, there are many, many events going on every month so how to choose? Plus, it’s not just giveaways, there are also Bundles, Summits, and other types of events you can take advantage of.

One of the Facebook groups I’m in specializes in doing Bundles. Bundles are collections of items from contributors – similar to giveaways. The differences are that the event often has two tiers, for contributors as well as for the visitors; generally a free option and a paid option. And some have two paid options with no free one. Of course, there are other options as well.

Summits are really interesting as there are multiple “experts” who get to give a presentation, usually for about 45-50 minutes (perhaps only 30 minutes). They talk about something that is helpful to their audience and at the very end are allowed to either provide a gift to those who are attending and/or can make an offer at the end of the presentation.  You get to learn something valuable from the presenters, whether you accept their gift or sign up for their offer (their lead magnet)

Of the three, I really like giveaways, even though you have to pay to be in the event. Usually there are several levels to join; the basic level is the least expensive (and sometimes it’s free). You don’t really get a lot of opt-ins from that level but it’s a way to get your foot in the door and try it out. Just don’t expect too much at that level.

A second level is a bit more expensive but gets you more exposure so the opportunity is better for more opt-ins.

The third level, the most expensive, gives you much better exposure and you will also usually get quite a few more opt-ins at that level.

For instance, with my giveaways, if you join at the basic level, your gift is available on the Thank You/Download page. That’s about it.

If you join at the next (Featured) level, your gift is included on the TY page but is also featured in one email during the course of the event. In other words, you get special attention which can draw more opt-ins to your gift.

At the highest level (Elite), you also are invited to do a video interview with me that gets on my YouTube channel and is included in the email that features you and your gift. This level usually gains the highest number of opt-ins.

That said, you’ll find that every giveaway is different and has a variety of special features. My giveaways are usually every 6 months. One of my mentors does one every 3 months! And I’m in another giveaway that happens every month.

The variety is wide and the reasons to join a giveaway are multiple. The biggest reason to join a giveaway, bundle or summit is to share your gift and knowledge – in exchange for the audience’s email address. They are then on your email list and you have the ability to communicate with them and market to them. There is an old adage in internet marketing that once someone buys from you, there is an excellent chance they will purchase from you again. In order for that person to buy from you, means they have to be on your email list. How do they get there?

Joining a giveaway is one of the all-time best ways to build your email list. I highly recommend that you join one. If you don’t have a lead magnet (a free gift) to offer, be sure to let me know so I can help you create one. It’s usually going to be something that can be downloaded, a PDF or graphic, etc. Then you’ll need a landing page, which is easy, and also an email provider (not just Google or Yahoo, etc.)

If you want to learn, I’m here to help! The next step is to schedule a short call with me to talk about where you are and what you need, and then you can either go and do or join a class with me to get it all together. Of you can hire me (or someone) to set it up for you. See? Lots of options!

Warmly,
